A website can be a big investment, I'm sure you have a lot of questions you want answered!
Let’s face it, websites are confusing for those out of “the know.” Hopefully these FAQs can help you!
My websites start from £899. Compared to a full-time freelancer, this is almost half the starting price!
Why do I charge less? Simply, I don’t need to make a living doing this! I have a career in the NHS, this is a hobby turned second-job.
Time time it takes to complete your project depends on what you want! It also depends on how quickly I receive resources, feedback and other milestone progressing criteria.
I work in my spare time, I have a full time career that takes up my 9-5. This means my websites often take a little longer and I aim to have every project completed within 6-8 weeks of signing the agreement.
This can vary between projects. Generally, if you select a basic package then there is no down payment and any other packages have payments equally split throughout the key milestones of the project.
You will receive a full project proposal that outlines payment schedules. I operate on a 15-day payment terms, meaning you have 15 days to settle an invoice in full.
Content – I will ask you for draft content during the first stage of the project (see my process) to discuss how you want to structure your website, final content is needed before we deploy your website.
Branding – I will need a high quality logo file (SVG or PDF if possible) and any other branding materials you have. If you have a colour scheme in mind, I need to know!
Photos – If you have a bank of high resolution images you wish to showcase on the website, using these is essential. If not, we can discuss the type of images you’d need and I can use free stock images in place.
No! But it helps to have one in mind, all of my projects come with a provision for a domain name but if you do have one, I may need access to manage it for when we deploy.
Where I purchase domain names for my client, they will retain full ownership when the final invoice is settled. I purchase domain names via Ionos.
Yes! I recommend WordPress for small organisations, it can be shaped to provide all the functionality a marketing website would need.
Small changes can be made to your bespoke WordPress theme, see aftercare for more. For larger changes, I will take these on as a separate project.
No, although I do set it up and I can manage it if you want!
I ensure my clients are completely in control following deployment. Shortly after we’re live, we’ll transfer ownership of the hosting solution used and you’ll be completely in control.
I provide aftercare to all of my clients which includes hosting management, but ownership and responsibility is retained by the client.
For the first three months following a website launch, I will ensure security and quality updates are made and I’ll fix any bugs that occur. This is my complementary aftercare.
I offer maintenance packages to all of my clients, learn more about them here.
I don’t take on projects that modify pre-built themes or templates. If you have a bespoke theme by another designer, I can take a look and estimate a cost for any minor modifications.
